The MBA program at St. Mary’s University’s Bill Greehey School of Business offers innovative programs designed to graduate conscientious global business leaders. The program includes a JD/MBA dual degree option, as well as an additional dual degree with The University of Applied Sciences in Schmalkalden, Germany. The MBA program advances the University’s Marianist tradition of community service through “a wealth of classes” in ethical leadership, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship. It is also home to a unique host of real-world experiential learning opportunities, such as the chance to be a volunteer federal income tax preparer for area residents through St. Mary’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program or to study abroad in places like Brazil, Denmark, South Korea, and France. In addition, the curriculum is based on a Marianist focus on the education and development of the total person. This includes modules on Advanced Behavioral Skills dealing with conflict resolution, innovation and creativity, interpersonal communication and other skills that differentiate top performers at work.

Students complete a thirty-three semester-hour program consisting of eleven courses which include a Rapid Innovation Social Business Prototyping, an International Field Study, and a capstone project. The program requires three full semesters and a summer to complete and new cohorts are launched each fall. With the help of “the friendly administration,” students are able to take advantage of specialized programs such as the accoutancy track for students working toward their CPA certification.

Students praise faculty for “focusing on teaching and understanding” and providing “real-life cases that the professors experienced in their former occupations,” including the wisdom of “some exceptional standouts, who are nationally competitive.” St. Mary’s has always been known for its personal touches and small class sizes, and students confirm that faculty “spend a lot of time working with students on the nuances that can’t be conveyed in an hour” and help “mentor them on career decisions.” Students appreciate that this small program is not overly bureaucratic, which is derived from an administration-faculty union that “works hand-in-hand to ensure that students receive the best education and support both inside and outside the classroom as possible.”
