Faculty Information

Students Say

Syracuse University is regarded as a “nationally-recognized school” and its Martin J. Whitman School of Management falls nothing short of its parent institution’s esteemed reputation. The online MBA program provides “a solid educational and professional core,” “online interaction with classmates and the professor,” and “flexibility of an online format instead of going part time attending classroom lectures.” The school also offers immersion opportunities “so that online students still have the opportunity to network with their peers.” This makes them feel as though they are “a part of the institution and not just a number.” One student states, “The program has allowed me to look at the business world differently in real time.” The majority of topics cover “current business practices and can be applied to current business problems.” While the amount of work can be “a lot to manage” according to many students, “the way the classes are laid out make it very easy for students to access, since there are many different days and hours students are able to choose from to accommodate their own work schedules.” The “rigorous” workload is “worth the sacrifices.” The professors are also “willing to work with you.” Students describe the administration as “very responsive and interested in each student’s success.” The asynchronous and synchronous classes “are often taught by two different people.” This often “helps students hear the same information in two different ways.” Supplementary “resources and videos” are also provided as extra support. Discussions in class are “always thought-provoking” due to classmates who are “driven, intelligent, and strive for excellence.” Students speak highly of each other. They describe their fellow classmates as “friendly and cooperative with a ‘we’re all in this together’ attitude.” One student says, “It’s a relief that we all seem to be in the same boat, juggling work and school. Everyone really wants the other to do well.”

Career Services Overview

Students Say

The Syracuse University MBA program is an “obvious choice,” as it presents the opportunity for obtaining “an elite degree” from a top-rated school. One student states, “I feel that I would stand out if presenting my resume in a future job interview.” The professors have a “high level of expertise,” and their “real-world experience is invaluable.” “The course instructors are also often working professionals, so they can share their personal experiences in an academic setting,” guiding their students along their desired career paths. The “in-person U.S. and international residencies” are also among the school’s greatest strengths, as students are “required to meet classmates and professors face to face.” There is also “cam-to-cam interaction with other students,” which “allows you to begin the networking process before you even complete a residency.” Of course there is always “the recognition of Syracuse University’s brand no matter where I go,” as one student boasts. Another claims, “I do not feel that I would have gained any more knowledge by attending a more costly ‘higher ranked’ MBA program.” Students describe their overall education experience at Syracuse as “superb.”
