Admissions Requirements
Requirements are Biology (12 semester hours); Biology lab (2 semester hours); General Chemistry with lab (8 semester hours); Organic Chemistry with lab (8 semester hours); Physics with lab (8 semester hours); English (6 semester hours), Biochemistry (3 semester hours)and Statitics (3 semester hours). All prerequisite courses require a grade of C or better. The MCAT is required, and should be taken within the past five years. For applicants who have taken the exam more than once, the best set of scores is weighed most heavily, but all scores must be reported. Texas residents and residents of neighboring counties in New Mexico and Oklahoma, which comprise the service areas of the school, are given preference in admission. Only nonresident applicants with GPAs of 3.60 or higher, and MCAT scores of 30 or higher will be considered for admission.
