Admissions Requirements
Historically, residents of West Virginia account for 50 percent of the student body and are given priority in admissions. However, that number has shifted and is now approximately 40%. The minimum course requirements are eight semesters of Biology, Physics, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, all with associated labs, and six semester hours of English. The MCAT is required and the test must be taken no later than the fall prior to the entering class year. Average MCAT of successful applicants is in the 7-8 range. About 17 percent of approximately 3,500 applicants are interviewed, with interviews taking place between September and April.
