Faculty Information

Students Say

Students look to the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management online MBA program for its exceptional reputation, the convenience of an entirely online program, and its overall value. The program is “academically challenging but rewarding.” Even “seasoned professionals” can further develop their expertise due to the program’s “relevant real-world material” and precise academic standards. The workload is “very structured” and includes required reading of textbook and journal articles, research papers, online presentations, “discussion boards,” and “courses on video.” The “100% online” structure creates accessibility “from everywhere at every time,” and makes it “compatible to any lifestyle (including demanding jobs and frequent business travels).” One student says, “The online process allows me to move through the coursework at my own pace and helps me maintain a good balance of work, family, and school.” The Isenberg School of Management “has mastered the online delivery platform.” The school utilizes “Blackboard software,” which makes it easy to access learning materials from anywhere in the world. The “smooth and reliable internal processes” of the school’s technology also encourage “significant interaction with professors and other students,” which “helps prevent falling behind.” UMass students describe their professors as being extremely “available and responsive.” “Excellent online and telephone/email support” is given in the form of feedback in “impressive timelines.” Faculty and administration are thoroughly “invested” in students’ education. The students themselves, “mostly in the medical and financial industry,” “come with a range of backgrounds, making it a richer learning experience.” These “accomplished professionals” are “looking to enhance their business knowledge.” The ability to complete an “inexpensive,” yet well-respected online MBA program is tremendously appealing to professionals wanting to advance their careers without having to put their current lives on pause.

Career Services Overview

Students Say

The Isenberg online MBA program has become “progressively more respected in Massachusetts and abroad over the last few years, along with UMass as a whole.” Strong “concentration in healthcare administration” appeals to many medical professionals looking to acquire leadership positions in their fields, however, the sports management, accounting, finance, and economics programs are all “top-notch” as well. “The coursework is rigorous, but what sets this program apart from others is the abundance of resources and support students have access to, which helps them grow professionally and offers new opportunities,” says a student. It is perfect for those that would like “to be able to continue to grow professionally” and minister to their employees “in new capacities.” The online program “directly mirrors the full-time MBA program, and it is much more cost-effective compared to Boston area part-time MBA programs.” While students agree that being able to procure an MBA completely online is a definite advantage, some express interest in having “opportunities for online students to come to campus during the semesters” in order to “attend learning sessions on campus” and experience “peer networking.” However, the school continues to build a “solid reputation and has been consistently improving its grad school ranking with U.S. News & World Report and other ranking entities.”
