Admissions Requirements
Fifteen positions in each class are reserved for students in a B.A./M.D. program organized with Brooklyn College. Five positions are reserved for early assurance applicants from Queens College and the College of Staten Island. New York residents are given strong preference for the remaining spots. Prerequisites are eight semester credits each of Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics, all with associated labs. Six semester hours of English are also required. The MCAT is required and scores must be from within three years of the date of anticipated enrollment. Component scores for each MCAT series are looked at individually.

Graduates

SUNY Brooklyn graduates perform above the national average in terms of securing residency positions at top institutions nationwide. Alumni hold faculty positions at universities such as Harvard, Case Western, Stanford, Yale, Hopkins, Columbia, Cornell, and the University of Pennsylvania, among other prestigious institutions. 40 percent of 2002 graduating students entered residency programs in primary care.
