Admissions Requirements
The College of Medicine considers for enrollment individuals who have completed at least 90 credit hours of undergraduate course work. By state mandate, enrollment of out-of-state residents may not exceed 10 percent. Each year 200 entering students are enrolled. The following courses are required with at least a grade of ā€œCā€: General Biology with Lab (8 hours), Additional Biological Sciences (6 hours), General Chemistry with Lab (8 hours), Organic Chemistry with Lab (8 hours), General Physics with Lab (8 hours), English (6 hours), and math-based statistics (3 hours). The Statistics course should be taught in the Math or Statistics Department. Statistics courses taught in other departments may be considered with appropriate documentation from faculty. Although Biochemistry is not required it is highly recommended. The MCAT is required and must have been taken no earlier than five years before the expected date of enrollment, and must be taken by the last test date of the application year. The best set of test scores is considered in the evaluation process. Applicants should not withhold previous test scores.
