The Princeton Review & Entrepreneur  Name The Top 25 Undergrad & Grad Schools For Entrepreneurship Studies For 2017

NEW YORK, November 15, 2016 / — The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine today announced the results of The Princeton Review's 11th annual survey  naming the 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate schools best for entrepreneurship studies.

Babson College captured the #1 spot on the undergraduate entrepreneurship programs ranking list for the 5th consecutive year. Harvard University finished #1 on the graduate entrepreneurship programs list for the 3rd consecutive year.

Out of more than 300 schools offering entrepreneurship studies that The Princeton Review surveyed, 35 institutions' undergraduate and/or graduate programs made the roster of top schools for 2017. The two lists of top 25 undergraduate and graduate schools for entrepreneurship studies can be found below.

The Princeton Review today posted the lists at www.princetonreview.com/entrepreneur, as well as the methodology for the survey, criteria for the rankings, and detailed profiles of the schools.

The rankings can also be viewed on www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges and will be published in the December issue of Entrepreneur , available on newsstands November 22. Entrepreneur 's feature on the lists reports on the kinds of real-world insights, emerging trends and business ideas that fuel the entrepreneurial spirit shared across the campuses on the lists

The Princeton Review conducted a 60-question survey from May through August 2016. The survey asked schools to report on levels of their commitment to entrepreneurship studies inside and outside the classroom. More than 40 data points were analyzed for the tally to determine the rankings. Topics included: the percentage of faculty, students, alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors, the number and reach of mentorship programs, scholarships and grants for entrepreneurial studies, and the level of support for school-sponsored business plan competitions

The 2017 list includes two newcomers to the undergraduate list: The University of Iowa (#19), and Texas A&M University (#20). Three schools are new on the graduate list: the Texas A&M University (#21), The University of Texas at Dallas (#22), and Northeastern University (#25).

Many schools on the lists have exceptional offerings. Among them, Rice University, #3 on the graduate list, offers one of the largest and richest graduate student business plan competitions. Last year, it awarded $1,522,350 for student entrepreneurial projects. At Brigham Young University, #2 on the undergraduate list, students graduating within the last five years have started 320 companies that have raised $430 million in funding. At the University of Michigan, #3 on the undergraduate list, the school offers its students access to 33 different clubs that support students’ entrepreneurial efforts and additionally host multiple on-campus competitions awarding more than $460,000 in prize money.

These colleges and b-schools have superb entrepreneurship programs,  said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's Senior VP-Publisher. We highly recommend them to any applicant aspiring to launch a business. Their faculties are truly engaged in entrepreneurism. Their courses are rich with in-class and out-of-class experiential components, and the financial and networking support their students and programs receive via donors and alumni is extraordinary.

We’re honored to join Princeton Review in spotlighting these schools for their role in cultivating entrepreneurship, says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur magazine. It's exciting that schools across the country are embracing entrepreneurism, exploring and developing new ways to promote it, and preparing their students for an ever-changing economy that's full of opportunities. And it'll be even more exciting to see what these students do next. The Princeton Review has partnered with Entrepreneur Media Inc. on this project since 2006. Only schools that participate in The Princeton Review entrepreneurship program survey are eligible for consideration for the rankings. The company also reports school rankings in several other categories in its annual books The Best 381 Colleges, Colleges That Pay You Back, and The Best 294 Business Schools. All Princeton Review rankings are accessible at www.princetonreview.com.
