Before retiring I worked for thirty years in financial services, where I applied mathematical techniques to solve many interesting problems. These problems included optimally managing investment portfolios, assessing interest rate and credit risk, detecting fraud, and identifying potential biases in compensation practices.
I Love Tutoring Because
...tutoring gives me an opportunity to help students grasp concepts that may appear difficult and non-intuitive at first glance. I believe mathematics and science provide a universal approach to address many challenges faced by society, and I enjoy sharing my experience with students to provide them with the knowledge and tools to tackle some of these challenges!
