Career Experience
Following the completion of my Ph.D., I worked for three years as a researcher at a federal research agency. For the past 17 years, I have been a professor in the biological sciences department of a large state university. Here, I have been teaching molecular biology, organic chemistry, and biophysics. At the same time, I have pursued research in structural biology. My teaching reviews have been consistently strong. I feel comfortable teaching a wide range of topics.
I Love Tutoring Because
I think there is no such thing as an untalented student. All students are capable of mastering highly complex material, if the material is taught properly. Sometimes that may require reaching back and reviewing some very fundamental concepts. Tutoring allows me to customize my teaching to the students' needs, akin to office hours for my classes. I found this environment highly effective and rewarding.
