Career Experience
My first experience with tutoring someone was with my grandfather and helping him to learn to read English because French was his native language. I haven't considered myself much of a tutor in the past; I just enjoyed teaching others or learning something new in the process. I think during my service in the military is when I was able to tutor more, but in the military it's considered more of passing on one's knowledge to junior personnel based on experience. Coincidentally, new crew members were always coming onboard, and the more qualifications I completed, the more I could teach others. Although we had mandatory training, I enjoyed teaching a few crew members on watch or during my free time. Unless I was busy or had prior obligations, I was mostly available anytime to tutor or listen and give advice. Also, I would sit on watch as a senior operator and create PowerPoints to pass on to my division when I left the boat. Fortunately, this would not be the end, and I would find myself teaching or tutoring someone throughout my life and into the present day.
I Love Tutoring Because
I love teaching and learning. I feel that I come with a plethora of skills reinforced with knowledge and experience that can cater to nearly any demographic. However, all that I possess is a fraction of the knowledge or experience (i.e., personal, professional, cultural, emotional) and oral history that exists in this world; therefore, I learn from others while I can.
