Hi, my name is Matt! I'm a recent graduate student and have tutored and instructed language and literature at the university level for over six years. I really enjoy teaching about a range of subjects primarily in the humanities, from classical languages and history to Renaissance poetry and development of modern novel. I also enjoy engaging with American and Italian American literature, brainstorming topics for and helping to craft or make case-by-case adjustments to college-entrance essays, and talking about writing style guides and why they are important for success in academic writing.
I Love Tutoring Because
it gives me the opportunity to connect and advocate for learners from many backgrounds, life experiences, and educational expectations. Many career trajectories and college degree programs call for excellence in reading, critical thinking, and writing. This makes tutoring in these areas both enjoyable and rewarding for me as an educator. To put this another way, mentorship allows me to connect and advocate for learners hoping to discover, set, and calibrate individual learning goals for success both within and beyond academia.
