Career Experience
I have been an educator in one way or another since I was a teenager - so more than a decade! Starting out as a tutor in mathematics and science, I eventually made my way to the teaching assistant position in biology as an undergrad and later graduate student. I have taught many subjects in biology and general science to a variety of learners throughout my career as a paleontologist. I have also taught younger students in private school and as a volunteer docent at natural history museums. I am always seeking to learn - and to help others learn as well!
I Love Tutoring Because
... helping students have have their "eureka" moments - when it all comes together - is best in tutoring! Students require individual attention and the tailoring of their education to their specific learning needs. Through tutoring, I am able to help students rise to their potential and get that attention their needs require. The hard work necessary to help students with tough concepts also helps me, as I encounter tough issues in my own research! Constantly thinking and growing helps me help the students, and in turn, students help me grow as well.
