This tutor is by far the best I've had! Unlike my other encounters, he actually went out of his way to help me with problems he may have not fully understood himself, rather than just shrug me off and recommend me to another tutor/service. The tutor I that helped me had a good explanation for my question. I would have hoped the process was a little more transparent. For example, saying that he was writing an explanation somewhere else would be a nice heads up. There were long moments of silence when I wasn't sure if I should say something.

Maybe try to spend more time going through the problem with the person instead of just showing them all the steps and answer. Have the person answer a few steps to see where they are getting things wrong.
