Bachelors in French Studies from Calvin College

Career Experience

After completing a bachelor's degree in French, I received my teaching certification in French and Social Studies. I went on to study French Literature in graduate school, where I taught undergraduate French classes. Then I taught English as a second language and did some substitute teaching. I also had some private clients I tutored in French. After the birth of my first child, I began doing freelance editing work so I could work from home. I now have 4 children who are in school full-time and am looking forward to tutoring again.

I Love Tutoring Because

it's wonderful to help someone understand a concept or learn to think in new ways. It's a blessing to see a student who may have been confused and frustrated at the start of a session learn a "trick" or tip to figure something out such as how to conjugate verbs in the imperfect tense or which adjectives come before the nouns they modify in French, or even just what the definition of an adjective is!

My paper was an informative essay. The reviewer kept saying it was an argumentive paper therefore the grading was not really helpful. I also already ran my paper through Grammarly so I'm not really sure what grammar issues they are talking about.
