Career Experience
I am qualified to teach 7-12 Math in the state of Texas with a passed PACT score. I have taught middle school 8th grade math, Algebra 1, and high school Algebra 2. I currently tutor in those subjects, including Geometry. I make sure each student is understanding what is being taught before I move on to the next subject. I encourage all types of questions in learning, and I believe in each student working hard. During my undergraduate career, I was an organic chemistry and general chemistry facilitator and private tutor. I have taught students who are freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors in college. I won Facilitator of the Year at my university. I also was a mentor and volunteer with mathematics at a middle school and high school near my university. I currently tutor high school and college chemistry. I believe every student has the potential to be great, and I want every student to believe that they will be great in their subjects with hard work and dedication.
I Love Tutoring Because
my face lit up with pure joy, and I could not stop smiling. I just witnessed one of my students screech with satisfaction as she solved a laborious organic chemistry problem. She says, “I guess organic chemistry isn’t too bad after all.” I love to teach, so I can help students realize their capabilities just as this student, and I would love to experience more of these heartening moments. In this moment, I knew I had a joy and passion for teaching. I long to see students excel, to exceed expectations of others and of themselves. I desire to help students reach their potential. I share a love for education, and I share a love for knowledge. I believe all students have an aptitude greater than what any one person labels them, because a student may not know their full potential until they believe in themselves, in their abilities. I would love to help students to embody the notion that their hard work defines them, an individual, not a presumption.
